This page explains what personal information Noorult collects when you use noorult.blog and the company lookup at stocks.noorult.blog, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can delete your account whenever you like.

Who we are

Noorult (including the Bloombird channel and the company lookup) is an independent publication based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything on this page at noorult@outlook.com.

What we collect

When you make a free account:

• Your username and email address.
• Your password. It goes straight to our login provider (Supabase) and is stored there in hashed form. We never see it.
• Whether you ticked the box to get new articles by email, and that you confirmed you read this policy.
• When you signed up and last logged in, and your plan (free for now).

When you use the sites:

• Login cookies that keep you signed in across noorult.blog and stocks.noorult.blog (see Cookies below).
• Basic technical information that any website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting providers keep this in short-lived server logs for security and to keep the sites running.
• Anonymous visit statistics collected by WordPress.com (Jetpack Stats) on noorult.blog, such as which posts are read and where visitors come from.
• The companies you add to your watchlist, and the comments and likes you leave on posts. If you like a post without an account, your browser keeps a random ID so the like can be undone, and we store a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address to stop spam.
• Anything you choose to send us, such as an email.

We do not collect payment details. If we add a paid plan later, payments will be handled by a payment provider and we will update this page first.

Why we use it

• To run your account (sign-up, login, password resets, unlocking members-only content). Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• To email you new articles, only if you ticked the box. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
• To keep the sites secure and working, and to understand which content people find useful. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, useful site.
• To meet legal obligations, where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Supabase: account login and the account database, including watchlists, comments and likes (hosted in the EU, Ireland).
• Resend: sends account emails such as confirmation and password-reset messages (sending region EU, Ireland).
• Cloudflare: hosts stocks.noorult.blog and checks that members-only requests come from a signed-in account.
• WordPress.com (Automattic): hosts noorult.blog and its visit statistics.
• TradingView: live price and valuation widgets on the company lookup load directly from TradingView, which may set its own cookies. Their privacy policy applies to those widgets.
• Google Fonts: serves the fonts used on the sites, which means your browser requests them from Google.

Some of these providers are based in, or use staff and systems in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, standard contractual clauses or the UK-US data bridge.

Cookies and local storage

• Essential login cookies (named sb-…-auth-token) are set on .noorult.blog when you sign in, so one login works on both sites. Without them you cannot stay signed in. They are removed when you log out.
• Local storage in your browser remembers small things, such as where to send you back after you sign up, and the random ID used for likes without an account.
• Third-party cookies may be set by WordPress.com (for statistics) and by TradingView widgets. You can block these in your browser settings; the sites will still work.

We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

• Your account information is kept until you delete your account. You can do that yourself at any time from the account page on stocks.noorult.blog, which removes your login and profile straight away.
• Your email preference is kept until you unsubscribe or delete your account.
• Records of emails we sent you, and server logs, are kept by our providers for a limited period in line with their own retention policies.
• Your watchlist, comments and likes are kept until you remove them or delete your account, which deletes them too. Likes left without an account are kept while the post is up.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: ask for a copy of your information; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; object to or ask us to restrict how we use it; ask for it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. To use any of these rights, email noorult@outlook.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are never stored by us in readable form, connections to both sites are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to account data is limited to what each part of the service needs. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever become aware of a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the ICO where the law requires it.

Children

Noorult is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Not financial advice

Nothing on Noorult is financial advice. Company figures come from public SEC filings and are provided for information only.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, such as adding a paid plan, we will also let account holders know by email.
